Our Story

My passion for cooking began in my Aunt Kelly’s kitchen. Growing up, I spent countless Sundays at her home surrounded by family, laughter, and incredible Southern cooking. From big Sunday breakfasts to unforgettable family dinners, her table was where everyone gathered. Watching her cook taught me more than recipes—it taught me the importance of hospitality, tradition, and feeding people with love.

Aunt Kelly’s influence became the foundation of The Soul Spot and the inspiration behind our Soul Food offerings. Every dish is a tribute to the lessons she taught me and the memories we created around her table.

The Caribbean side of our story comes from my husband, Richi, whose Jamaican roots bring bold island flavors and traditions to our menu. Together, we’ve blended Southern comfort and Caribbean culture to create a unique culinary experience that celebrates both of our families.

The result is The Soul Spot—a place where Soul Food meets Caribbean flavor, where every meal is prepared with love, and where every guest is treated like family.

Dedicated to Aunt Kelly, whose kitchen started it all, and to the family traditions that continue to inspire me every day.
